This new concept for micro-apical surgery, called 3-6-9, is exclusive to Satelec and follows the current trend towards minimally-invasive surgical techniques. The kit consists of five instruments all designed to address different anatomical configurations. Together with a new diamond coating that enhances the instruments efficacy, these tips not only allow for more precise and better controlled retro endodontic treatment, but also conserve more bone and dental tissues. The root canal is preserved, even though the infection is treated at its origin in the canal system. The kit consists of five instruments all designed to address different anatomical configurations. Kit includes: AS3D, AS6D, AS9D, ASLD, and ASRD tips, an autoclavable metal support and an autoclavable universal wrench.
AS3D:The AS3D tip is intended for apical surgery of anterior teeth. It should be used without pressure, at the lowest possible effective power. Diamond-coated 30µm, length 3mm, taper 9%
AS6D:Second instrument in the sequence, it should be used to obtain a preparation length of 5mm at least. Diamond-coated 30µm, length 6mm, taper 9%
AS9D:The AS9D tip is for complex cases and allows preparation of the root canal up to the coronal third. The diamond coating of the AS9D is only present on the extremity of the instrument not to over-prepare the canal. Diamond-coated 30µm, length 9mm, taper 8%
ASLD:Recommended for apical surgery of premolars and molars. This instrument should be used with very light pressure. Diamond-coated 30µm, length 3mm, taper 10%
ASRD:The ASRD tip is recommended for apical surgery of premolars and molars. Diamond-coated 30µm, length 3mm, taper 10%
